Party Wall Matters

A party wall is a wall that separates two properties and is bound by The Party Wall etc. Act 1996. This Act also covers proposed building work astride the line of junction and/or or excavation near a neighbouring property.

You are entitled to undertake alterations to a party wall, party structure, boundary wall or to construct new foundations near to another property on the basis that your neighbour is advised of your pending work and that any damage caused will be repaired. The workings of this Act are complex, and we can advise you on any building work that may require adherence to this Act.

Danielle is a member of the Faculty of Party Wall Surveyors (MFPWS) and the Pyramus and Thisbe Society, the two leading institutions on Party Walls. For many years, Danielle has delivered outside seminars on this specific service.

“I manage about 450 retail units in and around London, most with various property management issues which take up various amounts of time. Party wall cases are one of those matters that can be complex, requiring specialist knowledge and thorough investigation, which would take up too much time - and I have no hesitation in passing these onto Danielle, knowning that she will protect the company’s position. Danielle’s work is thorough and she has proven to be adaptable when circumstances change during a project. I can get on with my other work and not have to worry about party wall issues. Would always recommend Danielle.”
